But, then again it has the patent number 1896484, and the really old ones just had "pat. Previously slotheads were the norm with side mounted 3 on a plate tuners.The bit of identification the guitar has on it is stamped #1896484I've done some reading on the website guitarhq.com/dobro.html, but i haven't found a definite answer It would be much appreciated if anyone could help me out! The case is in very good condition, and the compartment inside has almost a full set of original Gibson Mona-Steel Strings.There may not be a number on the end of the headstock, as this one was made in the mid 1930's by Regal under license by Dobro.
